Sustainability: Strapping Made from 100% PET Flake
Polipak's polyester (PET) strapping is made from 100% PET flake: bottle flake recovered from collected PET bottles.
The Per-Ton Reality
Proven by Feedstock Choice, Not Slogans
EU packaging rules set recycled-content targets for plastic packaging; the rate and deadline depend on the packaging type. Polipak's PET strapping feedstock is 100% PET flake. That is a feedstock fact, not a green claim, and our ICIS-linked raw material flow backs it up.

100%
PET Flake
Bottle flake feedstock; no virgin PET used.
50,000bottles
Bottles / Ton of Strap
1 ton of PET strap ≈ 50,000 plastic bottles recovered.
10,800t/year
Metric Tons / Year Capacity
Our annual capacity; equivalent to roughly 540 million bottles.
From Bottle Flake to Strapping
PET bottles pass through collection and sorting to become bottle flake. The flakes are re-formed into strap on Polipak's Reifenhauser twin-screw extrusion lines. The result is strap with steel-strap tensile performance and quality comparable to virgin PET, made from recovered bottles instead of new resin.
Raw material flow is monitored lot by lot with IV (intrinsic viscosity) and moisture controls.
