Polipak Plastik: Türkiye's first polyester (PET) strapping manufacturer
Kambiz Vatandost founded Polipak Plastik in Bayrampaşa, Istanbul, in 1983. When polyester strapping was still imported into Türkiye, the company took the first step toward producing it in the country, in 2003. Today we make polyester (PET) and polypropylene (PP) strapping at our plant in the Gebze Plastics Organized Industrial Zone (GEPOSB) and have exported to 43 countries.

Our story
Polipak Plastik began with polypropylene (PP) strapping in 1983. Polyester strapping was still imported into Türkiye at the time; the Reifenhauser twin-screw line commissioned in Gebze in 2003 became the first step in PET strapping production in Türkiye. Today strapping from our two PET lines ships to 43 countries.

1983
Founded
Kambiz Vatandost founded Polipak Plastik in Bayrampaşa, Istanbul. Production began with polypropylene (PP) strapping.
1992
Second PP line
Polipak Plastik purchased its second polypropylene production line.
2002
Groundbreaking in Gebze
The foundations of our new plant in Gebze were laid.
2003
First step in PET strapping production
Production moved to the plant in the Gebze Plastics Organized Industrial Zone, and PET strapping production began on a Reifenhauser twin-screw PP/PET line. Until then, PET strapping was imported into Türkiye.
2014
Second PET line
Our second Reifenhauser PET production line came online.
2022
Bilecik
Work began on a new investment in the Bilecik 3rd Organized Industrial Zone.
2023
First in Türkiye with AAR
Polipak Plastik became the first company in Türkiye to receive an AAR Open Top Loading Rules verification document (5/8 × 0.035 in smooth PET strapping).

Gebze
We produce PET and PP strapping in 69,965 sq ft (6,500 m²) of covered space; our products have reached 43 countries to date. We are the sole producer of Superbant, Türkiye's patented embossed strap.

We run Reifenhauser (Germany) twin-screw PP/PET production lines in 69,965 sq ft (6,500 m²) of covered space. The first line came online in 2003 and the second PET line in 2014.

Founded Polipak Plastik in Bayrampaşa, Istanbul, in 1983 and led the move that brought polyester strapping production to Türkiye. Superbant, the patented embossed strap, grew out of the same vision.
