PET-P-19-1273/4 in (19 mm) Embossed Polyester Strapping, 1.27 mm
875 kg · 700 m

Steel coil strapping keeps a coil from unwinding, and bundle strapping keeps sheet, tube or structural shapes from coming apart. On these loads, PET strap is a lighter, rust-free alternative to steel banding.
Coils are banded through the eye and around the circumference: the eye band stops the wraps from telescoping, the outer band stops them from unwinding. On bundles, the strap holds the pieces together while cranes and forklifts lift them. Put edge protectors under the strap on sharp-edged sheet and shapes, because a sharp edge will cut a tensioned strap.
Do not apply PET to hot-rolled material that has not cooled; a polymer strap loses tension with heat. On cold product, PET is lighter than steel banding and does not rust. For an automatic coil line, give us the width and core size your machine accepts, and cite ASTM D3950 (United States) or EN 13394 (Europe) if your service center specification does.

Test it on cold material with edge protection in a trial shipment; hot product and very sharp edges may still call for steel. Send us the load weight and number of bands, and we will propose a size for the trial.
Three variants are. We hold two verification documents under the AAR Open Top Loading Rules, Section 1, which govern open-top rail car loading in North America. They cover Type IV PET with friction welds: smooth 5/8 in × 0.035 in and 3/4 in × 0.040 in, and embossed 5/8 in × 0.035 in. Other sizes are outside that scope.
Coil or bundle? Send the weight and dimensions, and we will suggest the PET size for your steel load.
